AMT's kit of the Danube Class Runabout as seen in Star Trek Deep Space 9. At 1/72 this builds up into quite a decent sized model. Assembly is straightforward, with painting really making or breaking this type of model. Patience during masking before painting the many small panels and good references to correct colour and decal placement errors in the instructions all help to make this a fine model. The USS Rio Grande (starfleet registry NCC-72452) is a Danube class runabout, designed as a multirole starship. The Danube-class starships are constructed at the Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards on Mars. The prototype was commisioned into Starfleet service in early 2365. In all five runabouts have been delivered to the fleet inventory: USS Rio Grande, USS Mekong, USS Orinoco, USS Yangtzee Kian and USS Rubicon, all named after Earth rivers Use the Image Navigator arrows to move thru the available pictures of this model. |
