Working with vinyl was different but quite easy. The lower torso was filled with plaster of paris for strength, being reinforced with a piece of old metal coat hanger. As he is quite large in this scale, I used 1/4 inch bolts in the legs to attach to a custom base. From my research, I decided to only use acrylic paints on the vinyl and super glue for construction. Despite the fact that Darth Vader is the same character in each of the 3 movies, closer examination shows that his uniform (in particular the belt and chest control panels) differ in layout and colour between each movie. The AMT kit has panel layouts consistent with the first Star Wars movie (A New Hope). The painting instructions provided with the kit however do not match that layout.
