Getting close to 10 years old (released in 1998), the venerable Tamiya
F4U family still holds its own. Having said that, when compared to the
latest P-47M, its easy to see how things have improved over the years.
This was meant to be a quick build, however life conspired against me and
4 months later it was finally done. The weathering has been kept intentionally
subtle on this model as it has been built on commission. I did however
let my head go a little with the drop tank as these things got really banged
up in real life. I hope it gives the model a bit of personality. Additions
to the base kit include rockets and bomb (taken from the Academy kit).
